Sorry this Giveaway is now closed.
Mr. Tide and I are pretty low key Heart Day people. We try and make every day a day filled with love around our house so we didn't buy each other presents or even cards. I did get our kids something though and because of the storm and the chance for more snow on Monday, our daughter didn't come home for a visit, so I'll pop her present into the mail.
But even without a lot of fanfare, we'll still make this a special day in our own way. Maybe Mr. Tide and I will go for a walk hand in hand. Or watch a movie all snuggled up together. And I already made chocolate chip cookies, which are Mr. Tide and our son's favorite cookies, so it will be a good day.
But enough about what cupid does around here, let's talk about the great Giveaway I have for you this week!! On Saturday I needed to get out of the house. I'd been snowed in since Tuesday, and after almost 5 days of staring at the inside of my house and rearranging things, it was time to get out and see the world!
So of course we had to venture out to one of my favorite stores, Cecil's Country Store in Great Mills, Maryland. Now I know you are thinking, she always goes there, and it's true I do, and for good reason! You see I can always find something that I love at Cecil's and even if I don't (which almost never happens!) I love seeing the owner Dawna and chatting with her. Dawna and I grew up down the street from one another and so we have that common thread that connects us.
We know each other's siblings and we can talk and get caught up on how family and friends are doing, and chat about how things are going with the store and what new things will be coming in. This trip was no different, she told me about her Dad and how he's not been feeling well and about some of the exciting new merchandise she bought during her most recent buying trip.
Of course I browse the whole time I'm chatting and look at all of the cool things she has. Today I found a gift for a special friend, I can't say what since she reads my blog...sorry Traci you'll just have to wait and see what it is when it arrives! And I mentioned to Dawna that I was looking for something for a Giveaway.
Now you'd have to know Dawna, but she is one of the most genuine and generous people that I know. You know those people who go out of their way to say hello and really want to know how "you" are doing, well that's Dawna to a T. And do you also know the kind of person who really does get excited when she has people pop in to her shop, regardless of how much they buy or if they buy anything at all?...Yup that's Dawna too!
So when I mentioned the Giveaway, and that I loved a beautiful white cutwork throw that she had in the store, she handed it to me and told me to take it! I was giddy with excitement, and I was thinking WOW I want this beautiful throw for myself, all at the same time! So after I purchased the present for my friend and thanked Dawna for her generous gift of the throw, off we went towards home!
Look at that gorgeous cutwork detailing!!!
I only took it out of it's protective plastic cover, just long enough to snap these photos. But I distinctly heard it whisper to me...Kat, don't I look lovely hanging here on your antique rocking chair...don't you want me to stay?! So I quickly put it back in it's protective cocoon and out of sight so that I won't be tempted to keep it! But whoever wins this beauty has to promise me they'll love it just as much as I do! ;-)
So you know the drill...

Thanks so much for the chance to win such a beautiful item!
