I am constantly amazed and humbled by the kindness, support, and unbridled generosity of the blog world! Whether it's comments, a thoughtful email, or a surprise package that awaits me at my mailbox!
Last week when I checked my mail I had a lovely little box tucked inside my mailbox! I had been expecting a package from my dear friend Connie of Hartwood Roses. I had sent her a little something and we were both keeping mum about each other's packages!
Once I wrangled the heavy box out of the mailbox and headed back inside, I was both thrilled and amused at my wonderful present! You may remember a few months ago when I did a post on some duck pin bowling pins that I had gotten at The Vintage Source. When Connie brought me her lovely clawfoot tub, she also found a few duck pins of her own!
As the owner of a heirloom rose farm, it seemed perfectly fitting that the card Connie had enclosed would have roses on it! Isn't it pretty?!
And inside she had written the cutest note. She has such a great sense of humor and is so thoughtful!
When Connie picked up her beautiful new cupboard at Lucketts Store recently, she found this perfect little bowling ball and thought of me! And wouldn't you know that I have the perfect spot to do a little duck pin bowling!!
I don't even need gutter guards!
I felt a little like Laverne and Shirley while setting up these shots! But I think I might actually be able to bowl a perfect game with this perfect new ball!! Maybe I can install one of those cool little hand fan thingies in one of the bedrooms off of the hall?! Now all I need are some cool shoes, a shirt with my first initial embroidered on it, some bowling alley food, and I'll be all set!
Thank you Connie for knowing that I would appreciate this very cool gift!!!
Too cool! What a thoughtful friend!
ReplyDeleteI love this post! I have a bowling shirt that belongs to my Uncle Louie. It is a prized posession. Connie is quite a sweet friend! Anne
ReplyDeleteDon't let my children get a hold of that set. Your doors would be destroyed. What a fun thing to have and a good friend to boot.
ReplyDeleteNow that is cute! What a fun gift!!
ReplyDeleteKat, that is too cute that you bought you that ball. Now go get that shirt!
ReplyDeleteKat, you are one prolific girl! I've just finished reading your blog from the beginning ... that took a few weeks! I'm now a loyal follower. I found you thru the House of Turquoise blog when the interior of Brooke Steuart's house was featured. I am still gaga over it and look back at it frequently! I'm now a loyal follower and look forward to reading your wonderful blog on a daily basis (no pressure).
ReplyDeleteThis is a prize of a gift! What fun. You definitely need the shoes and shirt to go with it. Your friend has a wonderful sense of humor.

With friends like Connie...who cares about the enemies :-) I see a big K embroidered on that shirt...
ReplyDeleteOh I just love it! How thoughtful! Mr. B. has an old duck pin (that belonged to his grandfather) with Mamie Eisenhower's signature on it...there is a story there I think!
ReplyDeleteYou're right ~ it is truly amazing to discover all of the wonderful people out in blog land and their amazing talents as well!
ReplyDeleteWonderful!
Cindy
That gift is off the chain or the ball as it seems! hugs♥olive
ReplyDeleteI love our blogging community. I have friends and family who just don't "get" how we can all be connected in a meaningful way. They just don't know what they're missing out on.
ReplyDeleteThese photos are just the best and the set is soooo adorable!
Perfect! I'm sure you couldn't imagine what was in a big heavy box! But you NEEDED it! Let the games begin! Have fun! ♥
ReplyDeleteBlog world is a constant source of surprise....I like to read about special friendships born from a blog!!! Nice pic! Hugs xx
ReplyDeleteHow cool..., I also got a surprise gift in the mail yesterday..., glass floats. I was floored to say the least! Great shots, Kat!!

Oh this is just so much fun to see. Love the shots, they are perfect! ~Lili
ReplyDeleteWell Connie may have given you a bowling ball but at least it wasn't a bowling ball present (haha). It does look perfect with the pins.
ReplyDeleteWell that made me smile - what a sweet thing to do.
ReplyDeleteYes, you should definitely get yourself a bowling shirt!
P.S. Mr. B. filled me in on the Mamie Eisenhower signature on the duck pin. Apparently, his grandfather, Samuel Walter Bogley was the president of the Bank of Bethesda. During WWII there was a fundraising event and Mamie and a four star general were at the event to promote the sale of War Bonds...not quite as juicy as I had hoped ;)
