Hope Springs Eternal

Today is one of those glorious days that you want to bottle up and save for a rainy, cold day!

The kind of day where you can't be sad, even if you try, because spring is bursting forth all around you!

A day where birds sing and flowers dance.

And everywhere you turn there is something coming to life...

Something making the world a more beautiful place.

And your worries slip away like grains of sand between your toes.

This is my kind of day!  One that reminds us that Hope Springs Eternal.
Hope springs eternal in the human breast;
Man never Is, but always To be blest:
The soul, uneasy and confin'd from home,
Rests and expatiates in a life to come.
-Alexander Pope, An Essay on Man

I hope you all are having this same kind of day wherever you might be!  And if you want to try out the wonderful free Silence texture I used on several of these photos, be sure to visit Kim Klassen's site by clicking HERE!

  2. Hope sprung up for me this past week as well Kat.
Without going into much detail of how this happened had it not occurred in my soul last week I would have never been ready to fully take in todays morning gift.
I am driving from Portland to Eugene. About a 2 hour trip south when I notice what I thought was a flock of geese on the side of the freeway.
My eyes focussed in on what was mistaken as geese...hawks...never that many in one place! They are eagles!!! At least 30 to 40 of them in a field of sheep! Eagles are something we see occasionally here in the Portland metro area of Oregon but rarely and not more than 2 if truly blessed. Here were a 'herd'!
    I pulled over safely.
Grabbed my camera I just purchased last night & thankfully charged.
As I got closer I realized exactly what all the commotion was about.
Here were lambs being born right and left. I had arrived just in time to see a ewe drop to her knees & birth twins.
Why were all the eagles surrounding?
They were there to feast on the afterbirth.
I must tell you what occurred from within expatiates in a life to come.
I will definitely write about this on my blog and post all the amazing pictures I was so fortunate to capture.
-Alexander Pope would be proud that I stopped & smelled the roses :-)

  6. Beautiful pics! It's absolutely gorgeous here, too.(finally!) I ran on the track while WD was practicing, and it felt so great to be running outside. SB(the 6yr old) ran the track, too, and completed a mile. He was so proud of himself. We've started spring planting and hope to have some blooms soon, too. Thanks for sharing.

  15. It is so nice to be out and about in Blogland again and seeing everyone's Spring posts. I knew, without a doubt, that once I got here I would see not only beautiful blossoms, but the photography would be AMAZING!

I went reading back and was so entranced with the HDR photography that I clicked on every link and literally got lost for the last hour! WOW! Thanks for sharing those links!
