From the dew-soaked hedge creeps a crawly caterpillar,
When the dawn begins to crack.
It's all part of my autumn almanac.
Breeze blows leaves over, mostly coloured yellow,
So I sweep them in my sack.
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
When the dawn begins to crack.
It's all part of my autumn almanac.
Breeze blows leaves over, mostly coloured yellow,
So I sweep them in my sack.
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
Friday evenings, people get together,
Hiding from the weather.
Tea and toasted, buttered currant buns
Can't compensate for lack of sun,
Because the summer's all gone.
Hiding from the weather.
Tea and toasted, buttered currant buns
Can't compensate for lack of sun,
Because the summer's all gone.
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my poor rheumatic back
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my autumn almanac
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
Oh, my poor rheumatic back
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my autumn almanac
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
I like my football on a Saturday,
Roast beef on Sundays, all right.
I go to Blackpool for my holidays,
Sit in the open sunlight.
Roast beef on Sundays, all right.
I go to Blackpool for my holidays,
Sit in the open sunlight.
This is my street, and I'm never gonna leave it,
And I'm always gonna stay here
If I live to be ninety-nine,
'Cause all the people I meet
Seem to come from my street
And I can't get away,
Because it's calling me, (come on home)
Hear it calling me, (come on home)
And I'm always gonna stay here
If I live to be ninety-nine,
'Cause all the people I meet
Seem to come from my street
And I can't get away,
Because it's calling me, (come on home)
Hear it calling me, (come on home)
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my autumn Armagnac
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my autumn almanac
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
Oh, my autumn Armagnac
Yes, yes, yes, it's my autumn almanac.
La-la-la-la...
Oh, my autumn almanac
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes.
I had a wonderful day on Saturday where I did absolutely nothing, at least nothing I didn't want to do...now that's how life should be every day don't you think?!
One of these days I will have a day to do nothing.
ReplyDeleteI like that idea, too, which is why I am trying to take part of each day, just to enjoy life!
ReplyDeleteLove the leaves and the textures. I feel like I can touch them and crunch and scrunch them, they are so real.
ReplyDeleteYou are not going to believe this, but I have never heard this song. Ever.
ReplyDeleteYesterday I bagged the cleaning idea, at least the inside. I cleaned up around the house because it was so beautiful out there! I did get two more windows done and now the morning sun looks so beautiful coming in. The old windows in this house are the most difficult I've ever had to clean.
Beautiful photos. So glad you enjoyed your day.
ReplyDeletegm to you and what a wonderful post.......yet again!! i just love your photos they always brighten my day and remind me how beautiful things are even a fallen leaf.
ReplyDeleteDivine! Never doing what you don't want to is pure pleasure in this crazy world!
ReplyDeleteAll of your images are wonderful, they really capture the essence of fall. I think doing nothing or having nothing to do is a choice and a wonderful one at that. Sometimes we just need to give ourselves permission to do nothing and enjoy the process. Kathysue
