And They Call It Puppy Love

I've spent the last few days busily typing away on three stories that are due.  And I'm happy to report that Ms. M is recovering remarkably well from her surgery...she's one tough cookie!

Most days Mr. Quinn and Miss Kylee are either right next to my desk chair, or sometimes they lay underneath my desk, resting their heads on my feet giving me encouragement while I'm busy working.

Their sweet faces reminding me that no matter what I do, or don't do (except for feeding them and taking them out of course) it doesn't really matter, they'll love me no matter what!

Tonight, while I was finishing up one story, Mr. Tide took them out for their evening romp in the back yard.  It's something we do several times a day, plus walks, and like clockwork they remind us if we forget!

I was going to ask Mr. Tide to take a few pictures, but when he came back inside he said, "I've been out taking pictures of the pups and some other stuff."  Good to know that telepathy thing is still working between us after all these years!

So all of these wonderful pictures are all his doing.

Miss Kylee, resting after running all around like a crazy woman.  She's always so proud of herself after she chases her little brother and steals a stick from him!  Even being 8 years his senior she gives him a good run for his money.

In true Border Collie fashion Kylee can run for days and not get tired.  Mr. Quinn on the other hand likes his rest, and after a few intense rounds of tag with his sister, or several trips around the property to survey his kingdom, he's ready for a little nap.  So back in they came to warm my feet and my heart, like they always do!

Many of you have probably already seen this video, but it's just so darn cute the way this dog is so happy to see her daddy when he returns home from Afghanistan!  If this video isn't about puppy love, then I don't know what is!

  6. I am sure Miss Kylee and Mr Quinn are almost as spoilt (and loved!)as our brother and sister combo - Mickey and Buffy. There is absolutely no question whatsoever just who Rules the Roost in our house! The little video reminded me how crazy they carry on when my son Matthew comes home on holidays from University. They NEVER forget. Thanks for sharing. ;)Sharyne

  8. Just beautiful. The video made me cry. I was in a little shop once and found a pillow that said "I want to be the person my dog thinks I am." How true is that. Our pets think we are all the best things since sliced bread. Very pretty dogs.

  12. You have such beautiful dogs! I just love these photos the Mr. took! He really did a great job of capturing their beauty. This makes me wish I had a dog! I have only have two cats. If I were ever to talk my MR.into a dog it would be a collie of some sort for sure. I have wanted a collie for some time!

  14. Mr. Tide took wonderful pictures! They are so gorgeous!! I bet it so much fun to watch them play! It is funny that you said that they are always by your feet when you write, as I type this, my little mini dachshund sits as close to me as she can. Every time I get up she follows as does my Shepherd! They are so loyal no matter what! That video is so great, they never forget who they love!! :)

  18. Beautiful pictures of beautiful dogs! We've had our Max for three years and each time I take his picture I am in awe at just how beautiful he really is. And that video you posted? ALWAYS makes me cry...and when I watch the video of the "surprise" homecomings (it's in there, too), I catch myself practically sobbing it's so beautiful.

  19. Lots of doggie posts on blogs today, including mine. I just adore dogs and love that yours are at your feet as you sit at your desk. Mine would be too, but it's a rainy day and they have been banned to the first floor of the house only today, where they are all snuggled in together sleeping on a doggie bed. *sigh* love my canine kids.

  22. Thanks everyone, and sorry to have made a few of you cry! Animals have a way of touching our hearts like no others, and your wonderful comments are evidence of that wonderful fact!

  23. That video brings on the waterworks with me. My two are laying on my lap. Charlie Ross has his chin resting on the keyboard. And I have my right leg (not so comfortably) held up to hold it. Ain't puppy love grand?

  24. Kat,
I am definately showing this video to my husband. Today just happens to his Birthday, and I am waiting for him to get home from work, so we can celebrate! Our golden behaved so similar when he returned from Afghanistan, which I thought to video it, but I do have a great photo!

    Your pups are so cute!!!

  26. Oh yes, I have watched that video before and there's just nothing like that special bond. Your doggies are so beautiful and sweet and just when we get tempted to get another, I have to read all about how hard it is to go through the untrained puppy stage to jerk me back to real life where we said to each other "no more dogs." Darn. ~Lili

  27. Dogs are the best pets. I've never owned one, but my relatives and friends have them.
There was one time when I was at my uncle's house for a family get-together and we had a crisis, in which a family member had to be rushed by ambulance to the hospital. I sat down in the corner because I was so scared, and the dogs came over and cuddled with me, as if they knew I needed a little reassurance.
Also, like you said, they love you unconditionally no matter what you do (or don't). Someday, when I have my own house, I plan to have a dog.
