Take Wing and Soar

Today marked another day of progress for Ms. M, she has made great strides since she was moved to rehab last week!

Each time I see her I am so pleased with the progress she is making.  Miraculous progress in many ways!

When I visited her this evening she could move her right leg a little more than yesterday, and she is now able to move her right arm fairly well!

She has a wonderful roommate and so many people have sent her cards and flowers, she truly is loved.

When I walked in tonight she looked so pretty, they had finally done her hair today and she was so happy to have it all fixed up!

When I left the hospital tonight I came home and took the dogs outside to enjoy the cooler weather and nice breeze.  As I listened to the water lapping the shoreline I noticed several butterflies fighting the stiff breeze and trying to land on our butterfly bush.

The wind made it tough for them to hang on to drink the nectar of the tiny flowers, but they never gave up, they simply kept trying in the face of adversity.  And as I snapped the pictures above I realized that one majestic butterfly had a torn wing.  Like Ms. M, this butterfly was undaunted by his or her less than perfect body.

As I watched this little butterfly head off towards the fields and sky beyond there wasn't a sign or even a hint that it wasn't perfectly whole.  Sometimes it is through our imperfections that we learn to soar the highest!

Thank you to everyone who entered the my latest Frosted Trash Jewelry Giveaway!  And thank you to Julie for donating her gorgeous earrings!

The winner is Samantha2818 from The Nest!  Sam, who hails from Wales, has the distinction of being my first European giveaway winner!  Congrats Sam, just send me a quick email with your address and I'll show up on your doorstep...I mean I'll send you the earrings!  I've always wanted to visit Wales, I wonder if I should consider hand delivering these?!

Tomorrow I'm off to see the amazing Fifi O'Neill, editor of Romantic Country Magazine, who just finished up the last shoot for her upcoming book which is going to be amazing!  She will be in my neck of the woods styling two lovely homes for several magazines and working with a hugely talented photographer Mark Lohman!  I've never met Mark before and am really looking forward to watching him work over the next few days!  And of course spending time with Fifi is always a treat!!

I'll see you in a few days and tell you all about it!

Congratulations for Ms. M, and.. I saw a black butterfly with tattered wings on my purple butterfly bush the other day and I thought, how valiant... we should all be so resilient. Apparently your Ms. M is just that..
