Winners, Typecasting, and Other Curiosities

Winners :  The winner of the signed Scott Kelby book is Lavender Dreams.  I know she will put this to good use as she LOVES taking beautiful photographs!  Congrats!  Thank you to everyone who entered, tweeted, blogged, and Facebooked about my giveaway, I truly do appreciate all of your support!

Typecasting :  It seems that if I want to be successful in the world of blogging I'm supposed to pick a topic, style, whatever and stick with it.  But that's just not me!  I love coastal decor, it's my own personal style, but the best part about life is that we're not all vanilla and we don't all want the same things.  So I hope you'll understand if I show you homes that are colonial, contemporary, and everything in between!

I have such a love and appreciation for all styles done beautifully that I just can't pigeonhole myself and show you only one thing or promise not to talk about my dogs, or my hair, or whatever enters this old pea brain of mine!  So if there is something you want to see more of, let me know.  I'm always interested in what you all think and want to see.  Just know that I'm kind of like that dog "Dug" from the movie UP, and I'm easily distracted so who knows what I'll be posting about from day to day!

The most important thing to me is not to feed you the same thing day in and day out, but to hopefully be the cherry on top of your dessert from time to time! xx

Curiosities :  Have I ever mentioned that I have some of the best dang friends on the planet?!  Well I do, and not just because they give me beautiful things either!  I came home the other day and there was a gigantic box sitting by my desk and it was from Pottery Barn.  Now for a minute I thought "wow is my blog so famous that Pottery Barn is now sending me loot?!"

Ok, that thought passed pretty quickly, but still...  When I opened the box there was a wonderful note from my friend "J" thanking me for hosting her daughter Katy's bridal shower a few weekends ago!   "J" is one of the kindest and most insightful people I know, and did I mention that she has exquisite taste too?!

She sent me this gorgeous Coastal Curiosities Platter which I LOVE!  And as soon as I opened it I was running around the house trying to find the perfect spot for it (I did phone to thank her before I ran around the house!).

I love the rich colors, the beautiful detailing, and how it looks on my drop leaf table in my living room, and I can't thank her enough for her sweet gift which was completely unnecessary!

  1. Kat, I love the plate with it's coastal theme and great colors. That was very sweet of her. I guess I will have to order that book now since I need one.

  2. Wasn't that sweet of your friend - and what great taste she has.

I'm totally with you on not being able to stick to one topic on my blog. I'm a pretty random person as well, so it is no surprise that my blog is as well. Personally, I love reading all the ins and outs of your life and seeing a lovely variety of different styles - different flavours of ice cream, and all that.
