We have company coming this weekend, in less than 24 hours to be exact, and while I should be cleaning, I'm taking pictures of fall décor...doh?!
I think that's the beauty of getting older, you don't care if everything is perfect, just whether or not you have good food, good wine, clean towels, and a calm disposition to offer your guests. Or maybe it's just that as you age, you only invite people to your home who you know will like you for you...not how well they can see their reflection in your shiny mopped floors.
This will be the first time I've met this person in real life, though we've been friends for several years, thanks to blogging. Her blog was one of the very first ones I ever visited, and one of the ones that inspired me to start my own.
So, unless she turns out to be an axe murderer, or I do, I should be back next week to tell you about how it all went.
I hope you all have a very Happy Weekend!
I'm having company for dinner,

have a brilliant time with your blogging friend - I'm sure that you will. Love your pictures.
ReplyDeleteI identify with your relaxed attitude toward entertaining and sentiments on the benefits and beauty of "maturity". Your photos are lovely and I am sure the visit with your blogging buddy will be wonderful. Looking forward to hearing all about it!
ReplyDeleteHow exciting! Happy weekend to the both of you!
ReplyDeleteI think you are so right about the older part and the beauty in knowing that the visit and hospitality is more important than all the perfect things. Enjoy your weekend!
ReplyDeleteExcited for you...and I LOVE that you are capturing your Fall decor instead of fussing about shiny floors...lol! YOU my dear definitely have your priorities right, in my book. xo
ReplyDeleteSounds like fun to me!
ReplyDeleteHave a great visit!
Love the photos.

Beautiful images as always Kat. Have a terrific time. Paul :)
ReplyDeleteI can't believe how you captured the essence of how I feel about getting older. I have copied and pasted your paragraph into my journal to remind me that I am not alone in how I am feeling about getting "mature" - yeah right. Thanks so much for all that you share here. I'm not very good at commenting, but I'm getting better - a little bolder with age - and I visit every time you post and thoroughly enjoy myself. Have fun with Kate! I'm ever so jealous that you two live so close together! ~chris
