Sick As A...

Thanks everyone for your wonderful comments about my 1 year blog anniversary, reading them has been better than a big bowl of chicken noodle soup!

And speaking of chicken noodle soup, I could use a whole vat of the stuff!  Both my son and I have come down with some sort of nasty virus, the kind you get after spreading yourself too thin during the holiday season.  The kind that sneaks up on you and makes you say things like "I feel sick as a dog," and makes you wish you owned a big red water bottle with its very own sweater!

Thankfully, these guys are not sick as dogs.  And also thankfully, Mr. Tide has been around to help out by doing EVERYTHING around here, including answering my work emails...I have to admit, he does make a pretty cute secretary!

For now I'll be snuggling up with these guys under warm blankets, drinking copious amounts of tea, and wondering how people can subsist on daytime television??!!!  Maybe tomorrow I'll feel good enough to fire up my laptop and catch up on what's been going on in the world...maybe.  For now I'm headed back to bed.

I hope all is well in your world, and that you stay healthy!

Happy Birthday Mr. Tide

On May 30th, 1962 a certain handsome hubby came into the world. And in just a few weeks it will be 24 years since I took him off of the eligible bachelor list...sorry girls but he's all mine! Today he'll be pampered a little, showered with presents (even though he is the most difficult human on the planet to buy for), and he'll have his favorite cake...chocolate with chocolate icing! So Happy Birthday my sweet Mr. Tide aka Squishy (inside joke!), I hope you have a wonderful day, the kids and I love you more than words can express!

Mr. Slipper Socks Man

If you've never stopped by Cote de Texas for a peek at her wonderfully elegant blog then you truly have been missing out. But her most recent post, Guess Who's Famous?, had me in stitches last night and even my Mr. Tide (he doesn't own any slipper socks and I'm thinking I should be thankful for this!) was amused by this very funny post.

Mr. Tide and Mr. Slipper Socks Man must surely be related somewhere down the line as I kept imaging Mr. Tide doing the very same thing as Mr. Slipper Socks Man, given the same set of circumstances!

We live in the country, and our neighbors consist mostly of deer, wild geese, eagles, swans and squirrels at the moment, but we do have a few "human" neighbors who I'm sure are delighted when Mr. Tide takes our two dogs out each morning in his robe and boat shoes! When I recently asked him "Aren't you worried that one of the neighbors will see you when you're out there in your robe?" he matter of factly replied "Oh I stay near the garage, so they can't see me!" Since we live on the water, the house is oriented so that the living areas take advantage of the view, meaning the garage is the MOST visible part of our house from the street, so I'm thinking his logic is slightly flawed! I guess I should just be happy it is him getting up way too early and taking the pups out in the freezing cold!

If you need a little pick me up on a Monday morning, be sure to pop over to Cote de Texas, I promise it WILL put a smile on your face!
