Say Something

I don't have much to say right now.  Earlier this week I heard very sad news about the health of a dear, dear friend, and it has left me quite speechless and hugely sad.  Sad for his family, sad for him, sad for myself, and sad for the world.

As I drove home from a visit with another dear friend who is 88 yesterday, I heard the song below.  Even though the lyrics say "I'm giving up on you," I wish they said "I won't give up on you!" because that is how I feel about my friend who is ill.  Even though not all of the lyrics convey how I feel, some of them do and the melody somehow made me feel calm.  It is a reminder that we all need to take a moment and say something to those we care about, because not only will it mean something to you, but others around you who really need to hear those words will know you haven't given up on them!

Duck, Duck, Goose

I hope you all had a lovely St. Patrick's Day weekend!  The weather was picture perfect here and we spent as much time outside as we could.

Mr. Tide worked in the yard, while I ran errands and had lunch with Ms. M.  It was good to see her and have some time to chat about nothing in particular.

Most of the Canada Geese have headed back up north for the summer months, but there are a few hangers on, like the two pictured above.

Many people find them to be a nuisance,  but they don't really bother us much.  They simply fly back and forth between the creek and the field next door.  I love hearing them honk all throughout the winter months, they add a little noise when so many of the other birds have gone.

The two that are still with us seem to be a mating pair and they also seem to have set up shop in the wetlands across the creek from us.  So maybe we will have a few goslings in the next month or two.

I hope you each have a wonderful week!  Work will be calling my name most days, but not so much that I won't take a peek at the happy feathered couple from time to time.

Bad Start, Happy Ending

Today started out on a rough note.  I wasn't feeling well at all...

But by the time Mr. Tide got home this evening, I was feeling better and asked him if he would take me out in the kayak.

We took the tandem out for a spin and while he paddled, I got to ride along like the Queen of the Nile and snap pictures.  It's quite a treat to just glide along while someone else paddles, of course we all know I have the hard job of trying to capture the wildlife *rolls eyes*.

If you are wondering why I'm doing so many textured pictures this month, well I have a little project underway and so I'm working on a portfolio.  I promise, realism will be back soon, but for now I'm having fun creating.

So after a bad start, the day ended happily...thanks to some salt water, fresh air, and a handsome husband I can always count on!!   I hope you each had a good day, even if it started out upside down!
