Easter at our house this year will be very low key.
I'll be catching up on email, doing some work stuff, and generally taking it easy...well if taking it easy means spreading 120 bags of mulch which are scheduled for delivery tomorrow morning!
So on Sunday, if I'm able to move, we'll head to church and then enjoy a special Easter dinner. I'm still not sure what I'm fixing since cooking a whole ham, our traditional dinner of choice, would be way too much for just the 3 of us.
Our daughter is fixing dinner at her place and invited us to come, but having to drive that far, and asking someone to take care of the dogs on Easter Sunday wasn't really a very good option, so we'll be doing our own thing.
I've spoken to a few friends, and even my extended family, and it seems we are all having a low key holiday this year. It's funny how some years you have 20 people and other years it's more quiet and calm.
Whether you are having a big dinner with all the trimmings, or just a quiet day, I hope you each have a very Happy Easter!
We are driving an hour south to meet up with three of our kids and their families. No big dinners cooked here this year either. Blessings to you- xo Diana
ReplyDeleteHi Kat, low, low key here at the yellow house as well. Church which will be awesome and then yard work. Then travel to the old house and spend a week there for a change. Mulch kills me every time too. I did such intensive planting last week I have stayed inside this week and done I do not know what. That felt good by the way. Happy Easter. Olive
ReplyDeleteVery low key here, too. We were supposed to go to our son's in Nashville, but out of the question since the back surgery. Hope your weekend and Easter are wonderful.
ReplyDeleteEaster is a very special time of year
ReplyDeleteFilled with laughter, joy and lots of good cheer
Friends and family gather from near and far away
To share the warmth of the season, on this special day
Love your serene photos...
ReplyDeleteOur Easter will be a bit different as well...all adults...no little ones or Easter baskets...but, it will be joyful just the same!
Wishing you and yours a Happy Easter!
Pretty pictures.
ReplyDeleteSometimes the low key holidays aare nice.
We are going to brunch at our son's and his three girls (One of which is his wife). We may take out other son out for dinner later in the day. Nothing too fancy and I don't have to do anything. Some years I like that.
Happy Easter.
Lovely images. You're right sometimes it'a a quiet Easter and sometimes it's over flowing.
ReplyDeleteHope you'll link to Seasonal Sundays.

Happy Easter to you too, Kat...
ReplyDeleteI don't envy you the mulching work, but your yard is certain to look lovely when it's done. :-)
A quiet weekend for us, as well. Your beautiful, understated eggs are a joy to view, Kat!
ReplyDeleteCan you believe I still haven't heard how many I am having for dinner or dessert?! It's harder now that my son is married and daughter engaged, they have to juggle families around. So every holiday is different. I tend to roll with things so I am not worried. I have a ham, so I'm good!
ReplyDeleteLove your photos, the soft colors and natural eggs. Whatever you do, I hope it's wonderful. Happy Easter, Kat!
XO,
Jane
No family near us now but we will have two dear friends for dinner. Happy Easter, Kat!

It's a quiet Easter here too. We only have our youngest son home and my husband's oldest sister (who he has only just met a few weeks ago). We will celebrate Easter in a two weekends with Malcolm and Christie and Kate had her Easter box sent to her, which she and her friends adored (she makes it so worth sending her things as she is so appreciative). I hope you get lots of R and R and have a lovely weekend.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you, too, Kat.
ReplyDeleteOver here Easter will be quiet too, with just our daughter and my parents at the table. It's been a busy year so far, so that suits me just fine!
We're doing our visiting today instead of on Easter ... the grandsons will be here because their parents are both working. I expect to follow the pattern everyone else here has established for tomorrow, with a quiet day filled with sunshine and yard work.
ReplyDeleteHug your family for me, and scritch the dogs ... Happy Easter to you!
Happy Easter Kat, we're traveling the entire 1.5 miles to my brothers home! LOL!!! I think all my brothers and their families will be there and 1 sister and her family. The other 2 sisters and families will be joining us for dessert. Holidays are very strange now that we don't have mom. I'm most thankful for the importance of family she instilled in us.
ReplyDeleteHappy Easter to you and your family!
Kat, I'm "way behind" in my blogging, but I did want to come by and wish you a Happy Easter. I'll be back soon to scroll through and enjoy your posts. Mickie :)
ReplyDeleteusually very quiet here for easter, too, but...not today! big picnic on deck with new friends and old. wishing you a wonderful, wonderful day. ann
