*&#@*%&$(*#*&$^!!!

So apparently when I titled my last post "Feeling a Little Blue," blogger decided it would be a good time to take my cute little punny titles and teach me a lesson...or two...or twenty!

I was minding my own business, taking a quick break from writing when I decided to add a few blogs to my beloved blog roll.  Mind you I was also talking on the phone and reviewing interview notes all while adding to my blog roll.  So when I would normally hit "save" and go about my merry way, I accidentally hit REMOVE instead.  Oh it gets better, it even asked me if I was sure I wanted to do this...and in that very distracted moment I hit "yup, I sure do want to remove the blog roll I've spent months perfecting and creating...why not, I have nothing better to do with everything I have going on right now than to try and re-create from memory all of those wonderful blogs again!"

So could you all hear me screaming out there in the blog-o-sphere when I looked and saw that my blog roll had disappeared from my sidebar?!!!  I was still on the phone at this point and gave Mr. Tide a wide eyed HELP kind of look.  He tried, he even Googled it to see if it could be un-done, to no avail!!

So, I tried my very darndest to remember you all, but being ready to fall over from the heat, a busy day, and general exhaustion I did my best.  If you were once on my blog roll and now you've floated off into cyberspace, please, please, please send me an email and I'll add you back in.  It's not that you weren't important to me, or that I didn't love visiting you, or that it won't dawn on me after more sleep, it's just that this old brain of mine can't think for another minute!!  I'm off to bed...and just remember that remove is NOT the same thing as save!!!

  1. Kat- you might be able to google a cached version of your blog and you can scroll through it to at least see the titles of the blogs on your blogroll... us old time eBayers used to have to do this constantly when eBay would decide we'd violated some silly rule we hadn't and they'd close down our eBay stores on us with no backups (supposedly). SO anyway, try Google and see if it helps! :) Best of luck and sorry this happened to you!

  4. Everyone is still here, in cyber space, and we'll all be around to visit, so you're sure to get things back on a roll (yikes, really bad pun!)

  7. Hi Kat-It may not be entirely your own fault. I came home late today and found my blog had a mind of it's own. As of this evening I am very frustrated too. I won't take up your comment space but I will post about what happened. I hope you can find all the blogs your are looking for.

  8. I mean..."you are looking for"...not your are looking for. Sorry about the type-o.

  14. This could totally happen to me, too!!!
I have to remind myself NOT to multi-task.
    I'm too old for that!!
Put your feet up and breathe : )
It's too hot for dealing with this sort
    of nonsense! xx Suzanne

  15. OH NO! How horrible to have that happen... We all do crazy things sometimes though so I certainly won't judge you for doing this somewhat 'dumb' thing. Been there, done that... Some days I'm just a little dumber than others... LOL

There are days I have 3 or 4 things all running through my brain and it's those times that I make mistakes. We all need to slow down a bit.

(Hope you get the list all re-created. Good luck!)

  17. Now that sounds just like something I would do! I'm breathing easy though, I see I'm on the list and not lost in cyberspace. I hate it when I get lost and don't have a GPS. Yep, I'm right where I'm supposed to be, at Kat's, having a good ol' time.

btw, I absolutely adore that blue creamer in your last post. I have a thing for old creamers.

  18. That so sounds like something I would do!

I totally feel for you, I'm transferring all mine over from blogger to wp, and it is taking FOREVER.

    Best of luck!

  19. Argh!! What a drag. Yup, I am just waiting to do something like that (except on a more apocalyptic note) Don't worry, it'll just take time (I know...) but you'll get everyone back where they belong, and probably a few lovely additions.

  20. I think you can restore your computer back to a date of your choosing.
In the past this has saved my behind on a work related project!

  22. Oh my! I hate it when I rush to get things done and do THAT! or something just as aggravating, so sorry! smiles.

  23. I don't multitask as well as I used to! It can be SO frustrating to keep the blogs in order! Hope I'm a favorite! And I hope today is a better day! ♥

  24. I've done the EXACT same thing! No worries. Think of this as an opportunity to add NEW blogs to your roll lol...just trying to find a positive note for you.

  25. Ugh, wish I could say that I don't know how that feels, but I've done similar things WAY too often. Some I've been able to recover, but others couldn't even be recovered by my husband who is a computer guru.

If it makes you feel any better, at least you didn't somehow delete your ENTIRE BLOG - that is something that I would probably do! :)

  26. I did something similar recently. I also had to write google the other day for another issue...of which, I found very complicated and that caused my eyes to roll back in my head. Wouldn't it be nice if there was a nice person you coud call up at blogger to ask questions? I sure think so.

  28. OH NO!! Looks like you have your blog roll back up :) Not sure if I was on it before, but I'd love to be included!

  29. Rats! How Dreadful, rest assured all will sort itself out. You know how kind these bloggers are.

  30. I had something similar happen not too long ago. I was actually rendered speechless for a few moments as I sat there and stared at the place where my blogroll used to be. Now, about once every other month or so I print a copy of the list as well as that of my followers. Sounds tedious but it is quick and easy. Blogger has a few hiccups every now and then and I do not want to risk losing my lists again. It takes time to build them up!

  31. Well, here's what I do. I still have to type them all back in. But I keep all the blogs I visit bookmarked on Favorites. I keep it open in my sidebar of my monitor all the time. (But then, I have a 20 inch monitor, so I don't go blind.) Then if I lose something, I just look down the list on my sidebar and put them back! I'm sure you screamed to high heaven!

  32. Hi Kat, For some reason part of my blogroll keeps disappearing. It is always the same four blogs! So frustrating. I appreciate you re-adding me to the list. I do see though you have my blog name as "Welcome". I am off to back up my blog.

  35. I am so sorry, I know you will fix it wonderfully and somehow in your fix it style things will be better...does that even remotely cheer you up? Or should I say, that sucks, I don't even know how to make a blog roll!

    ReplyDelete
  36. Thats tough but hang in there and I am sure it will all work out eventually.

  37. Kat, Just what you needed....more work! You are the most go, go, go girl I've ever seen! Good luck getting all restored....

    ReplyDelete
  38. Oh that just stinks!! I've done similar things too and it is just so frustrating:(

  39. Oh no! I hate when those things happen. I'm sure it will all work out, though. Have a great day.
